Wow! It has been a awhile since I have been on here. I think like 9 months. Too much has happened for me to write it all so I will just hit the big points.
In March I finished my 3rd half marathon. It was a trail race in about 20 degree weather. It was awesome until mile 10...then it was humbling. I did a 5k race in April called the "Jiggle Butt Run". It was my first ever all girls run. It was kind of fun to only have girls around. I finished 3rd in my age division. I was training for my first marathon on May 5. I was unable to run it due to a knee injury from running and actually had to take about 5 weeks from running off. Boohoo :( I did the warrior dash June 9th and then the local Independence Day 5k. That is it for races this year.
So that is pretty much all the running related things for this year thus far. My children are growing and will both be in preschool this August. I am excited and nervous at the same time for school to start. A will have school 3 days a week for 4 hours a day and G will be 2 days a week for 4 hours a day. I am sure it will be fine once we get into a routine, but I have a feeling the first couple weeks we will have some growing pains.

Feeling confident!
I am not very good at this blogging thing yet. Hopefully soon I will get in the hang of writting everyday. Today I skipped running. I am conserving my energy for my 2nd half marathon Sunday in Omaha NE. Its about an hour from where I live so I will be going up tomorrow and staying in a hotel with a friend of mine who is running her first full. Super excited for her. Last year we both ran the half in Omaha together for our very first one. I am horrible at following a training schedule or really any schedule. If there is something that I am "suppose" to do I am probably not going to do it just for the fact that something is telling me I have to. Immature I know, but I can't seem to break away from the rebel heart I have. I have trained for this race just not from a piece of paper that someone else made saying what and when to run. Last year I was totally unprepared. I had only ran a 10k before. This time is much different. I hope to knock 25ish minutes off my time. I will post on Sunday or Monday with a race recap.
Have you ever ran a race with out preparing at all?

Shaved 5 minutes!
Yesterday I ran a 10k (6.2 miles) about 35 minutes away from my house. Talk about a destination race. My children and my aunt came with. I was excited to run this course because I had ran it last year so I know where the rough spots are. Also last year I pushed both my kids in the double jogging stroller so I knew my time would have to be better than last years. The race was an appreciation race for all those who serve our country because of that only the people in the service that participate can win anything. That takes a lot of pressure off because there's no way I am winning anything. So I rocked it. I ran and ran and felt good. Every step felt confident and fun. I had 1 goal and that was to finish faster than I had ever done before. I did it. I set my 10k PR yesterday. 1 hour 5 minutes. I shaved 5 minutes off of my time from the 10k I ran on the 4th of July. Then that afternoon the plantar fascitis and achilles tendonitis started to beat on my front door. Needless to say stretching and icing was my saturday night date!
